“Waiting for a Sign” Book Launch!
July 18, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
You are invited to celebrate the launch of Kevin Keating’s book Waiting for a Sign! Kevin’ passion for autographs started when he was just 10 years old, collecting autographs from baseball legends. His latest book is about each autograph’s unique story, and his encounters with some of the biggest starts baseball has ever produced, such as Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Yogi Berra, Rod Carew, Joe DiMaggio, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial, Roger Maris and many others.
“At the end of the day it’s about a boy and a baseball and where that baseball takes him over his lifetime and the stories are priceless. Kevin puts a heartbeat into every autograph he ever acquired. He shares so much more than the name on the ball. His heart is wrapped around the autograph. My friend, Keat-Rose, you did good! Love Clint” — Clint Hurdle, manager, Pittsburgh Pirates
Now, Kevin is an autograph authenticator, turning his childhood passion of collecting autographs and stories into a successful career. Kevin Keating is the principal autograph authenticator for PSA-DNA, a subsidiary of Collectors Universe, and has provided authentication and/or appraising services for many organizations, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), White House, Washington Nationals baseball team, and National Sports Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Meet and Greet with Kevin Keating.
Come hear stories about many of baseball’s greatest players and enjoy a display of autographed items from numerous hall-of-famers including Babe Ruth, Roberto Clemente, Ted Williams, and Yogi Berra. He will also provide tips on how to collect autographs and what to avoid!
Signed copies of Waiting for a Sign will be available for $20 each, and 10% of all proceeds will be donated to youth baseball and the Alexandria Little League. Kids are encouraged to attend and all ages are welcome. Refreshments will be available.
