Alexandria Drive-In Theatre

From to-go cocktails and curbside pick-up to drive-by birthday parties, our community has gotten creative with socializing while maintaining a distance. The ALX Community and The Garden are bringing socially distant socialization to Alexandria through drive-in entertainment! Located at 5001 Eisenhower Ave, the Alexandria Drive-In Theatre will show six Saturdays of family favorites, including Back to the Future, E.T., and Mamma Mia.

This season’s full schedule:

  • • Jurassic Park, Aug. 29
  • • Back to the Future, Sept. 5
  • • Trolls, Sept. 12
  • • Field of Dreams, Sept. 19
  • • E.T., Sept. 26
  • • Mamma Mia, Oct. 3

Gates open at 7:15pm to allow patrons to arrive before the movies begin at 8:30pm. Admission is $30 per car.The Alexandria Drive-In Theatre has teamed up with Curbside Kitchen to host food trucks on-site with concessions that may be ordered online and delivered straight to your vehicle. Curious what vendors you’ll see? Local favorites like Bangkok House, Roaming Coyote, Gemma Gelato, and Capital Chicken & Waffles will be there – just to name a few. The food trucks will rotate each weekend, so click here for each film’s food truck lineup! Most importantly, not only is The Alexandria Drive-in benefiting the local community with entertainment, but the ticket sales benefit ACT for Alexandria and Athena Rapid Response. ACT For Alexandria “brings the community together to elevate local philanthropic giving and engagement” while supporting local nonprofits to aid those vulnerable in the community. Athena Rapid Response Innovation LAB (RRIL) provides training and tools during times of need. They have designed face coverings and shields with 3-D printing technology to assist first responders during the pandemic. It’s the perfect way to enjoy some outdoor entertainment and do some good knowing your $30 tickets will be donated to charity.Clearly the Alexandria community was excited about the drive-in because tickets for this summer sold out in five days! You can still join the waitlist though, and donations to ACT For Alexandria and Athena Rapid Response are still being collected and accepted on their website.Follow Alexandria Drive-in on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date with news or visit alexandriadrivein.com>
