We have exclusive hotel partnerships on special room block rates in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, so you can rest assured that your guests are in good hands.

Transportation

With Reagan National Airport, the Metro, and the Old Town Trolley all nearby, there are plenty of great options for your guests to travel to your celebration. Ample street parking is available, but we also have parking options at each of our venues.  All ALX Community Alexandria event spaces are handicap accessible.

FAQs

Where do I park?

Parking at the Waterfront:

  • Free 2-hour parking in front of Founders Park on N. Union St.
  • Paid metered parking on N. Union St. and most surrounding streets

Parking at the Atrium/Above:

  • Free 2-3 hour parking on S. Columbus St.
  • Paid metered parking on Duke St. and S. Washington St.
  • We also offer parking validations for $12/day for the garage (arranged prior to your event), or we can arrange a parking attendant for $12/car
Do you have local accommodation partners?

We have exclusive hotel partnerships on special room block rates, so you can rest assured that your guests are in good hands.

Do you offer on-site catering?

We don’t offer on-site catering, but work with many trusted catering partners who are on-hand every step of the way, from the proposal process to when the last cocktail is poured. You or your licensed caterers must provide their own setup, equipment, and staff necessary to fulfill menu selections. Outside catering can be a huge cost-saver, largely because all of our preferred caterers allow you to bring your own alcohol.

  • Above ALX: We’ve curated an incredible list of local preferred caterers for hosts to choose from. 
  • Waterfront and Atrium Town Halls: Hosts may choose their own caterer; however, we ask that we have the opportunity to connect with them to ensure a smooth event. All outside caterers are subject to ALX Community pre-approval. 

All weddings at any ALX Community location must be serviced by a full catering team, regardless of size. 

Are your venues handicap accessible?

Yes! Both the Waterfront and Atrium are ADA compliant.

Do you offer non-profit or military discounts?

Yes! A discount can be arranged for certified non-profit organizations and active duty military personnel.

Do I need event or wedding insurance?

All weddings and events are required to provide a Certificate of Liability no later than 10 days prior to the event. Each vendor is required to provide a Certificate of Liability on the same terms as above, as well. 

Are pets allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are permitted, up to two dogs. A refundable pet deposit will be added to the total bill for each dog. Dogs are the sole responsibility of their owners. During the event, dogs must remain with a caretaker or in a crate if unattended.

Are there time restrictions on events and weddings?

While weddings and events at ALX Community spaces are not restricted by specific begin or end times, the Event Holder and guests must observe local noise ordinances. The City of Alexandria’s Noise Ordinance can be found here.
