The Nation’s Capital has one of the hottest coworking markets in North America. Take historically relevant height restrictions, throw in Amazon’s HQ2 and mix it with an ever growing larger than average amount of consultants, contractors and freelancers. What do you have? A whole lot of demand for shared, flex-use workspace.
ALX Community Adds 2nd Location in Old Town Alexandria, VA
Long known as a haven for small retail boutiques and locally owned businesses, Old Town Alexandria seems to have a similar preference for their shared workspaces. Or maybe it’s that the “big brands” such as WeWork, Industrious, etc who have opened all over the DC region, didn’t feel like they fit in? With 130+ coworking spaces in DC, there’s less than a handful in Old Town.
Facing high demand for coworking and an ever growing waiting list, ALX Community has announced they are set to open a second location. Set to open in October 2019, they are taking 25K SF of space at 201 N. Union Street, a historic building located on the Alexandria waterfront.
